Take 2

Sometimes you just fall off the blogging wagon.  Not having posted a weaving blog here since 2009, it seemed like a good time to start again.

I have been weaving.  Mainly dishtowels.  They have become a Christmas staple for friends and family.  I like weaving scarves and shawls and the like but let's face it, most people only need one or two of those.  Who can't use a couple of new dishtowels every year though?

I wove my first dishtowels in 1999 and had done a few more warps since then.  In 2010, I did 50 towels in two warps.  In the last 7 months I have wove over 100 I think, along with some other projects.

Dishtowels are great because you can play a lot with design and color on a small scale.  I put on one 20 yard warp and  told myself I would be good and weave all the towels with the same color weft.  That lasted all of two towels.  I ended with 11 variations.

I still warp sectionally and a 10 yard warp is considered around here as slumming it!  I did a 2 yard sample warp and my daughters were teasing me because it was so, well, unlike me.

I will throw up pictures and descriptions of the various warps and designs and try to cover the last 7 months.  Here are a few pictures of various items though.
